First things first.
Identifying, quantifying and tracking post-industrial waste streams are not part of your everyday business. Whether you manufacture goods, retail consumer valued items, or provide project services with ever-evolving requirements...you’ve got work to do.
That’s why we’ve designed the SSIblue™ system and the business processes necessary to implement it to flow with your facilities’ business operations, not interrupt them.
SSI assumes the necessary tasks to setup up the system within your operation or supply chain on your behalf, requiring simply the completion of a provided Sustainable Supply Endorsement Kit and short, scheduled training sessions to ensure proper implementation.
From there, just minutes a month per site are required to maintain the advance visibility reporting that you need at the corporate level to promote, facilitate and track progress towards sustainable business initiatives.
How does it work?
Material information within the SSIblue™ system is gathered by establishing strategic links between the products that you manufacture and waste streams that you generate. Kit provision and a couple discussions with lead contacts at your facilities—that’s our part.
Once these links are established, it becomes basic math. Waste stream forecasts are calculated per facility location according to their group-oriented production schedules, quarter by quarter. Streamlined input to maintain powerfully effective Waste Forward Mapping™ visibility—that’s your part.
A universal material categorization method is also used that makes it possible to compile, compare and share SmartStreams™ across multiple industries. Since the SSIblue™ database contains process and SmartStream™ information from diverse industries, the visibility towards re-use applications for your waste stream material is virtually endless by design.
As for traceability, materials management for each SmartStream™ setup in the SSIblue™ system is tracked within a dedicated module behind the scenes—not to be noticed until you need it (like a good referee at a sporting event). Collection activity is logged per SmartStream™ along with other pertinent data that enables you to see how much of your material went where and quantify the impact of that activity along the way.
